2017 National Primary Math Project Competition

image.jpeg
Three of our Primary 5 pupils participated in the 2017 National Primary Math Project Competition jointly organised by MOE Gifted Education Branch and NUS High School. Under the guidance of their teacher, the team designed a game called ‘The 0-9 Christmas Operation’. The key principle stems from the word ‘motivate’. The pupils went through several rounds of brainstorming sessions to come up with their desired game. During the brainstorming sessions, they exchanged ideas, making use of concept maps to generate and connect their ideas while working with one another harmoniously. The aim of this game is to motivate their school mates in strengthening their mathematical computational skills through play. The pupils enjoyed the process and were elated to know that they had achieved the Commendation Award!
