Semester 1

Educational Gymnastics

  1. Tumbling / Inverted Balances
    • Lie on back
    • Make an egg-like shape
    • Roll on the back to the left and right
  2. Head Balances
    • Balance a beanbag on head and walk at least 4 steps
    • Sit down while balancing beanbag on head
    • Get up with beanbag
  3. Safety (Follows teacher’s instructions provided and apply the safety boundaries)

Semester 2

Manipulative Skills

  1. Throwing a big ball straight up with 2 hands
    • Ready – stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and ball held with both hands ( palms up ) in front of body
    • Wind-up – bend knees and bring hands vertically downwards while keeping a straight back
    • Follow-through – straighten knees and bring arms vertically upwards with palms facing up
  2. Catching a ball
    • Ready – stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and arms raised towards ball ( palms up ) with eyes tracking ball
    • Catching – contact ball with both hands cupping ball firmly
    • Give – move arms downwards and towards body to absorb force of falling ball
  3. Social skills ( Communicate effectively with peers during playtime )
