Welcome to the Fuchun Aesthetics Experience – comprising of performing and visual arts.
Fuchun Primary is an MOE Learning for Life Program (LLP) school in Music and the Performing Arts since 2014. We are recognised by the Ministry of Education as a Brass Band Niche school and an N7 Cluster Centre of Learning in Music in 2013. This acknowledges the school’s strength in P1-P6 music education, particularly in the area of brass band.
The school aims to “develop every pupil to respond aesthetically”. Our pupils are not simply “exposed” to various art forms (music, dance and visual arts), but are taught to critically appreciate the arts and create art forms expressive of life through feeling, the senses and the imagination.
This is possible because we benchmark our Aesthetics programmes and deploy qualified art and music teachers to educate our pupils. We also emphasise depth, and not just breadth, in both music and visual arts education.
For example, the school benchmarks its music programme to reach ABRSM Grade 3, and supports the 4 Performing Arts groups (Brass Band, Choir, String Ensemble and Guitar Ensemble) to take Trinity Ensemble Examinations.
Our 5 Performing Arts (4 Music and 1 Dance) and our Visual Arts CCA also closely support the school’s P1-P6 Aesthetics education.
